CHRISTOPHER BRADLEY’S STOPPAGE time point was enough to secure Derry side Slaughtneil their first Ulster senior football title in a hard-fought provincial decider in Armagh’s Athletic Grounds.
With the game heading inexorably towards extra-time, Bradley stood strong to kick his fourth score from play of the afternoon to spark scenes of unbridled joy as Slaughtneil’s fans made their way onto the field at the final whistle.
Though the Derry champions had made the better start to the game - Cormac O’Doherty raising the green flag within 60 seconds of the throw-in – Omagh actually dominated the first half and were good value for their 1-5 to 1-2 half-time lead, Barry Tierney with the maximum for the Tyrone side.
However, Slaughtneil were much the better side after the break and retook the lead ten minutes from the end when Bradley scored his third of the afternoon.
